During the Christmas
season, the busiest time of the year when everyone is
thinking about their family traditions and the holiday
season. Volunteers who work with the
Share The Joy– Christmas Kids project spend endless
hours working together with one goal…that is to ensure that
no child has to wake up on Christmas morning without a gift
from Santa.
This project
was birthed over fifty years ago. It started when a father
of six small children was in a car accident and was
bedridden for several months. The mother of this house
became the sole provider for the family. It took everything
that she made at the local chicken hatchery just to provide
the family with food and shelter over their heads. In a time
when others were looking forward to what would be under the
tree on Christmas, there was no hope of Santa visiting this
house that year at Christmas. On Christmas Eve, there was a
knock at the door... and when the children opened the door,
no one could be seen. To their surprise, there on the front
porch of that old farmhouse, they found what seemed to be a
mountain of food and a toy for each of the children. Our
Pastor, Bill Daniel, was one of those children and he tells
of how he received a RED RIDER toy rifle. To this day, no
one knows who played the important role of Santa, that year,
but Pastor Daniel tells his congregation that this event
made so great of an impact in his life, he committed to
making the difference in as many children’s lives as
possible. |

We desperately need your help.
It takes approximately
$50 per child and sponsors are needed right away!. The
gift bags the children receive, include toys, coats,
clothes, school supplies and other items. Each
December, Share the Joy Project distributes more than 4000
items. These gifts will go to the needy children of
Forsyth, Guilford and other surrounding counties. The
names of these children are referred by the home/school
coordinators or guidance counselors of the schools. We will continue in the same tradition,
however, without your support, we will not be able to help
the increased number of children effected by the poor
economic times we are experiencing. .
For 18 years, Share The
Joy has been primarily sponsored by donations and gifts from the
Bible Revival Ministries Center friends and partners. Volunteers
also make handmade wreathes. Due to the corporate policy
change of the local shopping center, our primary lot will not be able to
continue with the traditional opportunity of raising the
funds to support this community project. Despite this
roadblock, we must still meet our commitment to the children
of the community. These children need your help!
It is important that the
children understand there is still someone who wants to
Make A Difference in their community. You can be a part of
this great effort to Share the Joy with others. Call
today, write or you can donate directly online. Your
help is greatly appreciated.
